The present invention relates to an arrangement for applying damping medium in an offset printing machine, the innovation being seen in the fact that, using an ultrasonic nebuliser, a mist of damping medium is produced which is directed with the aid of flexible tubes and/or nozzles and a fan directly onto the plate of the offset printing machine onto a rubber-elastic covered damping unit or directly onto the inking unit (hydrocolour system).
