PURPOSE:To increase the degree of horizontal integration of a picture by successively providng two outputs registers each having bits a half as many as transfer channels. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image pickup element consists of a photodetection part 1 for obtaining a charge pattern which corresponds to an image pickup pattern, a storage part where the charge pattern from the photodetection part 1 is stored temporarily, and an output part 3 of CCD constitution which outputs signals from the storage part 2 successively. The output part 3 consists of two horizontal output registers 6 and 7 arranged in parallel across a control gate part 8, and a gate area 9; the horizontal output registers 6 and 7 each have bits as half as many as the transfer channels of the storage part 2. Signal charges from the alternate transfer channels A1-An of the storage part 2 are transferred by the register 6, and those from the other transfer channels B1-Bn are transferred by the register 7; and they are arrayed correctly by a multiplexer 10. |
