NEW MATERIAL:A triazolyl alcohol derivative shown by the formulI(X is H or Cl; * mask is asymmetric carbon atom), having (-) optical activity. EXAMPLE:( - )-( E )-1-( 4-Chlorophenyl )-2-( 1,2,4-triazole-1-yl )-4,4-dimethyl-1-pentene-3-ol. USE:A fungicide. Effective against blast, sheath blight of rice plant, powdery mildew, scab, pod and stem blight, brown spot, etc. of fruits, having high safety to men and beasts, fishes, having no phytotoxicity to crops. PROCESS:For example, a triazolylketone compound shown by the formula II is subjected to asymmetric reduction with a chiral modified lithium alminum hydride type reducing agent, to give a compound shown by the formulaI. The chiral modified LiAlH4 type reducing agent is obtained by decomposing partially LiAlH4 with an optical active alcohol in a solvent. |
