N-SUBSTITUTED HALO-2 PYRROLIDINONE AND THEIR UTILITY AS HERBICIDES

The herbicidal preparation contains, as active component, a compound of the formula I. The substituents have the meaning given in the patent claim. The abovementioned compounds are prepared by cyclization of corresponding N-alkenylhalocyanamides in the presence of a catalytic amount of iron(II) ions.
