<p>The mechanism secures drill bits and milling tools in the upper part of a dental handpiece turbine, having a rotor with a clamping member in which the end of the bit etc., is inserted. The members (6) has oblong apertures (7), and is subjected at one end to the force of an elastic device. This holds the member head (10) on the bit end under the action of a ramp face (11) on the head working against a mating ramp face (12) inside the rotor (2). The bit end is freed by compression of the device typically by a button (14) covering the top of the turbine and acting via screws on a locking member (13) pressed onto the end of the clamping member.</p> |
