A central heating system for consumers is equipped with heat pumps. The system collects lost heat of different origins. It makes possible the use of numerous relatively small and irregularly occurring heat quantities. By means of the great number and the local distribution of the heat sources, the heat supply is made regular. The main advantage is the low operating temperature. It makes insulation more economical and also allows the utilisation of lost heat which occurs at low temperature. The operators of the heat pumps require no private well, are independent of variations in the groundwater table and have a heat transfer medium available which in general has a considerably higher temperature than the groundwater. As a result, better performance figures are obtained. |
