<p>1. An upright for light-weight partitions, comprising a one-piece sheet-metal section of U- or C-shaped cross-section with a web face (3) and parallel flange faces (2) bent with respect thereto, stiffening portions formed in the metal sheet being arranged in the web face (3) and extending substantially transversely to the longitudinal direction of the upright, characterised in that the stiffening portions (5, 5') formed in the metal sheet are circular, elliptical with the major ellipse axis lying transversely to the longitudinal direction of the upright or are rhomboid with the diagonal lying transversely to the longitudinal direction of the upright, in that, with a U-shaped section, the portions formed in the sheet metal extend to immediately adjacent the lateral edges of the web face and in that, with a C-shaped section, the length of the portions (5, 5') formed in the sheet metal transversely to the longitudinal direction of the upright is at most equal to the clear distance between the edge flanges (4) which are bent towards one another from the free edges of the flange faces (2) of the C-section.</p> |
