PURPOSE:To enhance the stability of steering, by effectively reinforcing a region from a bead to a side in particular. CONSTITUTION:The cross section of a tire 1 is toroidally shaped from a bead 2 in a rim engagement position to a tread 4 through a side 3. The bead 2, the side 3 and the tread 4 are reinforced by a carcass 5 made of one or a small number of rubber-coated plies produced by laying fiber cords of nylon, polyester, rayon or the like substantially in parallel with the radial direction of the tire 1. Both the ends of the carcass 5 are wound upward outside along a bead ring 2' so that a folded-back part 5' is provided. A rubber filler 6 of 300kg/cm<2> in dynamic modulus of elasticity is provided between the carcass body 5 and the folded-back part 5' so that the rubber filler extends from the top of the bead ring 2' to the side 3. Belt layers 8 are laminated on the crown 7 of the carcass 5 along the total width of the tread 4 to reinforce the tire 1. An added layer 9, which is made by obliquely laying high- elasticity-modulus cords of 2.5X10<5>kg/cm<2> or more at an angle of 45-70 deg. to the carcass cords, is provided between the carcass body 5 and the folded-back part 5' in addition to the rubber filler 6 so that the layer 9 extends from the bead ring 2' and is located within a range of 50-70% of the cross-sectional height of the tire 1. |
