PURPOSE:To measure light absorption with high sensitivity as well as in a short period of time by fixing on the inner surface of a transmissible cell a substance of physiological activity such as an enzyme, antigen, antibody, complement, other proteins or polysaccharides, or composite thereof so that a specific component in a sample is coupled with the fixed substance. CONSTITUTION:The inner surface of a cell of quartz, glass or transparent plastic in a spectrophotometer is coated with a polymer having COOH, NH2, OH or the like, and then by using glutaric aldehyde or the like, a substance of physiological activity such as an enzyme, antigen, antibody or the like is reacted with said functional group and fixed. A sample is placed into said cell, and after a specific component to be measured in the sample is specifically coupled with the fixed substance, a coloring reagent which specifically reacts with the product is added to measure absorbance. Thereby, the immune serum inspection or the like can be readily and highly accurately performed without the need for troublesome washing, incubation and the like. |
