The appts. has a source (S1) providing a primary beam (P) and with a detector array (D1,D2) on both sides of the latter for measuring the dispersed radiation. Each detector array is associated with a collimator (6,7) having two sets of screening plates (8) one set lying in line with the corresp. plates (8) for the collimator (6,7) associated with the other detector array (D1,D2) lying perpendicular to other plates. A secondary source is used for irradiating the body through the collimators (6,7) and comprises individual radioactive sources arranged between the second set of perpendicular collimator plates, a given number of plates separating each two adjacent individual sources. The detector arrays (D1,D2) may use strip scintillation detectors. The appts. can be used to examine the heart and provides internal structure in a relatively short time.
