A filter, esp. for the purificn. of drinking water, has in the fluid path between an inlet and an outlet a filter chamber contg. a filtering material. This material shifts the pH-value of the medium to be purified into the acidity range between 3-7 pH, and/or it contains a solid substance with a biocidal action, such as silver or copper. This prevents the growth of germs in water filters when there are longer periods of NO FLOW. |
