The wind power generator has a vertical shaft (2) which carries rotor vanes (3). The rotor is geared to a motor (7) through gearing (8). The rotor is carried on a frame (1) supported by guys (9) anchoring the frame to the ground. The top of the rotor is fitted with a wind vane (5) on an arm (4) pivoted at the end of the shaft. The opposite end of the arm has a guide vane (6) shielding one half of the rotating element to allow pressure on one side of the rotor.
