Electrical controller for vehicle headlamp orientation - utilises cam on motor shaft positioned from switch on dashboard

A control on the vehicle dashboard permits adjustment by control of the motor shaft in discrete positions. An electric motor with a gearbox drives a disc with five concentric circular tracks and also a cam. Each track has an insulated area and has an electroconducting face on which brushes make contact. An outer brush is connected to the motor power supply. The brushes are connected to contacts on a rotary switch which also drives an inverting switch wafer operated from the vehicle dashboard. This allows the disc to be rotated to particular angular positions to adjust headlamp position via the cam. The inverting switch is controlled by a spring clip which clasps two stems of a sleeve element which is in the axis of the selector-button, from which it is rotated.
