STILL PICTURE RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent degradation of the quality of still signals, by converting the television still picture signal to a digital signal to record it and by reproducing the recorded signal and writing it into a memory at a reproducing time and by reading out this signal at a prescribed timing to restore it to an analogue signal. CONSTITUTION:The television picture signal is stored in one-field memory 1 and is read out by every one-horizontal scanning time components and has the time base expanded by time base expanding circuit 5 successively. This signal is converted to a digital signal by A/D converter 7 and is recorded onto the video track of a VTR. This recorded signal is reproduced and is stored in random access memory 17 and is read out from memory 17 at a prescribed timing and is converted to an analogue signal by D/A converting circuit.
