The motor vehicle clutch comprises a diaphragm (18) mounted to tip between a primary support (34) on the bottom of a clutch cover (10) and a secondary support (32) formed by the outer edge of a truncated crown wheel carried by retaining parts (28) integral with the cover. The outer edge of the crown wheel comprises local interruptions to reduce the friction surfaces on the diaphragm during its tipping between clutching and de-clutching positions.
