PURPOSE:To prevent internal short-circuit in storage and suppress gas generation accompanied by charging in reverse connection in a short time, by using a separator having a specific air permeability for the separator between the positive electrode mixed agent in cyindrical form and the negative electrode in gel form. CONSTITUTION:As the separator between the positive electrode mixed agent formed into cylinder and the negative electrode in gel form, a separator having air permeability of 150-300sec/100cc is used. As such separator, are used synthetic nonwoven fabric, natural fiber paper compressed under high pressure, polyethylene sheet having minute holes formed, or the combined product of nonwoven fabric and micro-porous film. Thus, internal short-circuit due to active substance in free state in the storage of cell can be prevented, and if one battery series connection is charged falsely in reverse connection, dendrite generated due to electrolytic reaction at zinc electrode penerates separator easily, and short-circuit is formed, and the generation of gas can be brought in stop. |
