<p>The device comprises a rectangular casing (10), with two metal probe pins (14) projecting from one end and with an optical read-out display which comprises a series of light elements (16). A required point along the series is denoted by selectively illuminating one or more of the light elements (16) so that the latter act simultaneously as scale and indicator elements. Pref. a series of between 10 and 15 light elements (16) are used, extending in line along one major face of the rectangular casing (10), pref. with an indication marking (18) adjacent each. The light elements (16) may comprise LED's or miniature light bulbs and the display is pref. operated by depressing a push-butto (20) at the side of the line of light elements (16).</p> |
