A pneumatic tire, particularly a pneumatic radial tire for heavy duty in which uneven wear resistance and noise resistance are improved without impairing a wet performance and a steering stability on a dry road surface and which provides a block type tread pattern comprising at least three main grooves extending in circumferential direction in the center area of a tread, S-shaped or Z-shaped block rows disposed between the main grooves, adjacent blocks in a row overlapping partly with each other in the circumferential direction, and shoulder block rows disposed in both side areas of the tread.
