<p>K 5340 Lubricating oil having a viscosity index above 140 is prepared from slack wax having a nitrogen content below 500 ppmw by hydrocracking over a fluorine-containing catalyst comprising either nickel and/or cobalt and, in addition, molybdenum, or nickel and tungsten on alumina as the carrier, which catalyst has been prepared from an alumina hydrogel and which catalyst has taken up at least 0.1 %w nitrogen, by previous contact with basic nitrogen compounds present in atmospheric distillation residues of waxy crude oils.</p> |
