<p>PURPOSE:To provide an oil seal for an OF cable connecting box which can sufficiently endure high oil pressure by providing a mechanical seal on the outer periphery of the internal tube thereof. CONSTITUTION:A mechanical seal 14 is composed of a taper hole portion 11, wedged sleeve 12, and cap nut 13. A reinforced lead portion 15 is provided over between a connecting box 3 and a base lead portion 7 to thereby reinforce the mechanical seal 14. An internal tube 8 is engaged with the outer periphery of a cable metal sheath 2. Then, the tube 8 is inserted at the internal end into the box 3 to provide an internal lead portion 9 over between the tube 8 and the sheath 2. Hydraulic oil is applied as external pressure to the portion 9 to thereby urge the portion 9 onto the tube 8 and sheath 2 for the portion 9 to sufficiently endure against the high pressure oil.</p> |
