PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a lamp, by reducing the exhaust of O3 while lowering the temp of a metallic portion of a lamp by mounting not less than two gas through holes to a lamp house and by exposing the metallic portion to the outside from the holes. CONSTITUTION:A lamp house 12 internally encases a valve portion of a xenon lamp 2. A metallic portion 13 at the anode side is located outside the lamp house, and fixed to a plate 15. The plate 15 holds the xenon lamp 2 while dispersing the heat of the metallic portion 13 at the anode side into the atmosphere. Gas moving along an upper end of the valve and a lower end of the metallic portion 13 at the anode side flows out to the outside from a gas outflow void 20. A blower 19 cools the lamp house 12 while feeding air into the lamp house 12 from an air infow hole 21. The inside of the inflow hole 21 is provided with a metallic portion 16 at the cathode side with a radiator plate 17, and the metallic portion 16 is cooled by means of flowing-into air. O3 in flowing-out air is thermally dissociated during the time when it passes through the gas outflow void 20. |
