Washing and spin drying machine - with dished bottom and shell of suds-drum forming collar for spider fixture

In a horizontal drum-type washing and spin-drying machine the suds drum is so designed that the support spider is securely fixed to the suds drum and that the joint is not broken even in case excessive unbalance loads act on it. The drum bottom has a dished outward flange which is welded to the end ring of the drum shell. This produces a peripheral collar which is strong enough to be bolted to the four arms of the support spider. A sealing cpd. may be enclosed in the joint between bottom flange and shell.
