The present invention relates to a flame retardant timber with anti-bacterial and anti-fungal functions, and a manufacturing method thereof, and more specifically, to a technology for manufacturing a flame retardant timber with improved anti-flaming, flame retardant, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal functions in comparison with a conventional timber. The flame retardant timber is made by using cypress as a main material and performing a treatment with a phytoncide liquid captured in the process of drying cypress. The method comprises: a step for capturing liquefied phytoncide generated in the process of artificially drying cypress with a large content of phytoncide through heating in order to improve anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties; a step for mixing a non-formalin base flame retardant liquid and a phytoncide extract extracted by condensing the liquefied phytoncide; a step for performing flame retardant treatment to impregnate a timber with a mixture containing the phytoncide extract by using press type soaking equipment; and a step for performing drying. |
