1,254,321. Polishes containing polysiloxanes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 23 Dec., 1968 [26 Dec., 1967; 17 July, 1968], No. 61076/68. Heading C5D. [Also in Division C3] Emulsion polish compositions contain an organopolysiloxane prepared by partial hydrolysis and condensation of a mixture of (1) a liquid hydroxyterminated polydiorganosiloxane (2) an aminoalkyl trialkoxysilane and (3) an aminoalkoxyalkyl trialkoxysilane and containing 1-15 wt. per cent alkoxy groups and 0À04- 1À00 unit from (2) plus (3) per unit from (1) (see Division C3), wherein 10-50% of the amine groups are in the form of a salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid. Preferred compositions contain by weight 0À2-6% of the polysiloxane, 10- 60% solvent, 0À5-5% emulsifier, anionic, cationic or non-ionic, 20-85% water, 0-7À5% wax, 0-15% abrasive, 0-2% thickener, and 0-6% of a conventional liquid silicone. In examples various polysiloxane partial salts are prepared and compounded with water; mineral spirits or isoparaffins and optionally kerosene; sorbitan mono-oleate and oxyethylenated sorbitan mono-oleate, or sorbitan sesquioleate; microcrystalline wax; aluminium silicate; a polydimethylsiloxane oil; and a carboxyvinyl polymer neutralized with morpholine and triethanolamine. |
