In the top part of a thermally insulated housing there is a nozzle connected to a gas feed pipe. The nozzle directs a test-gas flow in the form of an impact jet onto a supply of liquid on the bottom of the housing. This liquid supply is surrounded by a porous limiting wall. A dry temp. sensor projects into the test-gas flow and a wet temp. sensor is positioned in the supply of liq. To stabilise the level of liq., a liq. feed is so positioned that the gas flow brings the liq. up to the expected inertia temp.
