Bottle cleaning and sterilising appts. consists of a conveyor contg. spaced holders for individual bottles which passes through washing, drying and sterilising and cooling zones in a single self-contained unit. The washing zone which also includes a subsequent rinser zone is horizontally aligned and is followed by a rising S-shaped course in a drying and sterilising zone in which hot air is introduced. The final portion of the drying and sterilising zone is horizontal and from this the conveyor leads into a vertically downwards extending cooling zone. At the bottom of this zone the bottles are removed and the empty conveyor makes a final horizontal run to the starting point.
