<p>The filling spout is particularly for a high-level fuel tank on a motor vehicle, its opening having a removable cap, while inside the tank is a float working in vertical guides. The float (7) or a bar (6) fixed to it slides axially in a guide (4) mounted in the spout (2), its dimensions being such that it protrudes above the spout with the cap (3) off. The guide can be a sleeve mounted in the spout by means of ribs, and a stop (8) at the top end of the bar prevents the latter falling out of it. A calibrated scale can be provided on the bar. The design avoids a simple method of avoiding overfilling, where the spout is above eye level.</p> |
