The brake cylinder is esp. for disc brakes of vehicles. An elastic member (1) is positioned between the brake piston (3) and the brake fluid (5). A hollow space (9) free of brake fluid is formed between the two parts and th elastic body is pressed into the hollow when the pressure in the brake fluid increases. The hollow is formed by a cut away in the elastic body. The piston and elastic body are connected via an adjusting screw (7) which is tensioned relative to the piston by a helical spring (8). The screw passes through the spring and screws into the elastic body.
