<p>The chuck body (1) has a taper bore and three equally spaced radial slots (19). The tool shank (5) is tapered to match the bore of the body (1), and also has three equally spaced slots to receive the larger balls (3). An outer sleeve (8) has a spring (7) which pushes the body (1) upwards so that the smaller balls (4) press against the larger balls (3). This force keeps the balls (3) in their slots so that they clamp the tool (5) in position. The tool can be released by pushing the sleeve (8) upwards against the spring (7).</p> |
