A gap 20 exists between the free ends of the members 2, 3 so that pressure may be applied to the assembly via a collet whose ends 22, 221 act on flanges 6, 7, the gap being closed on complete assembly. The wire mat 4, preferably of wire sheathed with weldable plastics, is dimensioned so that a gap 11 exists between its sides 9, 10 the gap being positioned away from the gaps 20 and that next to the hinge 25. The pipe connections 17, 171 are provided with seals 18, 181 to receive a boring tool for production of centres 14, 141.
