1474490 Adjusting cycle brakes for wear WEINMANN AG 25 June 1975 [27 June 1974 22 May 1975] 26864/75 Heading F2E In a cycle brake, the cover of the Bowden cable 6 is adjustable relative to the caliper arm 1 to which it is secured by turning a disc 16 (Fig. 2) or 18 (Fig. 5) formed with teeth 17 in engagement with a gear flange 13 formed on a sleeve 9. The sleeve is in internal screw threaded engagement with a screw 8 so as to move the latter, and hence the cover 6, linearly when rotated. The disc may be knurled for manual adjustment or, as shown in Fig. 5, formed as a ratchet for automatic actuation by a spring-loaded pawl 19 mounted on the other caliper arm 2. |
