<p>The tractor-drawn collector consists of a flexible, transverse conveyor-belt (8) mounted by grooves (10) on a frame (9). It is held by a bracket (11) joined to an upright (12) by a cable arm (13). The conveyor-belt (8) runs between two return-rollers (14, 15) at each end, that at the frame end being joined by a belt to a reducing gear (17). The folding frame (9) consists of uprights (19) and cross-pieces (20) with at the bottom a platform (21) for the operator. An attachment (22) on the platform connects the trailer on which the operator places the harvested tobacco-leaves. The frame (9) is supported by rods (23) on the tractor, and has wheels (24) at the bottom of each upright.</p> |
