PURPOSE:To provide a steering column device capable of preventing the backlash of a steering wheel and securing the rigidity without executing complicated works such as the shim adjustment. CONSTITUTION:A steering column device 1 is provided with an upper main shaft 11 where a steering wheel W is mounted, a lower main shaft 15 to be connected to the upper main shaft 11, a fixed bracket 21 to be fixed to the lower main shaft 15 side, a movable plate 23 which is mounted on the inner side of the fixed bracket 21 and movable in the direction of the telescopic movement, and an upper bracket 27 to be mounted in a tiltable manner on the inner side of this movable plate 23. A long plate-shaped connecting member 21h is fixed to wall parts 21a, 21b on each side of the fixed bracket 21, and the fixed position can be changed, and this constitution allows the adjustment of the clearance between the wall parts 21a, 21b on each side so that no excessive clearance may be provided at the part where the movable plate 23 is brought into contact with the wall parts 21a, 21b on each side. |
