A method for reducing the vibration in case of stopping of the engine of a hybrid vehicle is provided to decrease the generation of the engine stopping vibration due to the unbalance of the combustion pressure of cylinders or the vehicle vibration due to the compressed pressure of cylinders. A method for reducing the vibration in case of stopping of the engine of a hybrid vehicle comprises the steps of monitoring the catalyst temperature and the cooling water temperature; monitoring the engine speed; intercepting the fuel to an engine if the catalyst temperature is lower than the critical temperature, the engine cooling water temperature is higher than the critical temperature, and the engine speed is less than the critical speed; and controlling the engine torque by a generator.
