摘要 1,143,937. Opening fibres; non-woven fabric. B. RUDLOFF. 24 March, 1966 [15 Oct., 1965], No. 12947/66. Headings DIN and D1R. Textile fibres particularly those to be used in forming a non-woven web, are opened pneumatically. As shown flock 2 is fed into a stationary feed table 3 which is curved to partly encircle a fluted roller 1 the pressure of which may be adjusted. Roller 1 feeds the fibres to be acted on by a first air jet 4 and then by a second air jet 5, the fibres thus being opened. The spacings 6 and 6<SP>1</SP> of the jets are adjustable. In Fig. 2, not shown, the fibres are fed along a tube (8) by a screw conveyer (7) to be acted on by a jet (9) directed along the axis of the tube. A casing (11) about the end of the tube provides a further air jet to act on the fibres, this jet has an adjustable pressure. In Fig 3, not shown, the fibres are fed by a belt (13) under a thickness regulating roller (14) and between fluted rollers (15, 16) to be acted on by a jet from a nozzle (17). In Fig. 4, not shown, fibres are fed between a feed table and fluted roller onto a cylinder (18) having saw teeth and are subsequently blown from the cylinder by a jet (19). Forming non-woven web. In Fig. 5, not shown, fibres are fed by an arrangement (21-25) to a station (A) to be opened by a device as shown in Fig. 1-4. The opened fibres then pass to a chamber (26) to be mixed with resin and formed into a web. The fibres are blown in by an air current (27) adjustable by a throttle (29) and means (28). The air is sucked back into a suction box 31 through a conveyor (30) so that fibres are brought into the conveyor. The fibres on the conveyor are evened by an air doctor (33) and engaged by a further conveyor (32) to pass through a heating tunnel to set the resin. The finished web is cut into lengths or wound up. Liquid resin may be carried to the fibres by the air currents in the fibre opening device or sprayed into chamber (26) via nozzles (34). Additives e.g. barium sulphate and asbestos, which may be mixed with powder resin can be fed in to the chamber by mechanical means (36). Air current (27) may be heated.
