In a heating installation for hot-water preparation, a heating device (1) is provided, from which heated water is supplied to a storage tank (3, 4). Inserted into the forward run pipe (5) to the storage tank (3) is a flow control valve or a three-way valve (30), the flow in the forward run pipe (5) being released in a temperature-controlled manner. Thus, only water which is heated to a preselectable temperature is supplied to the storage tank (3), so that the latter is filled with hot water in a layered manner from the top. Constant circulation is thus prevented or only made possible to the extent that water heated to the desired temperature passes to the storage tank (3). <IMAGE>
