<p>A clamp for holding a strand of fibres at the inlet of a pair of draw rollers, has a lever pressing against a stay, which, together with the stay is movable relatively to the rollers, so that the strand of fibres can be presented to the roller nip. The clamp lever pivots on a shaft in the stay, whilst the stay itself is hinged on a stationary axis. Two spring-loaded or similar devices are provided, the first of which positions the clamp lever either where the fibres are released or where they are retained. The second holds the stay remotely from the inlet of the rollers. An easily operated and adjusted device is provided, preventing a build up fibres in front of the draft rollers of flyer and ring spinning frames, and allows rapid piecing up of the broken end.</p> |
