[Also in Division C3] Steel is coated with an epoxy resin forming composition comprising substantially equimolar proportions of: (1) a diepoxide, e.g. the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A; (2) a diphenol, e.g. bisphenol A; and (3) a diaziridine, e.g. one of formula: where R is a C 1 -C 10 hydrocarbon radical. The composition may contain up to 20% by weight of a volatile ketone and conventional fillers and pigments. The coating may be cured by heating, e.g. at 100-200‹C. for 10 minutes to 1 hour. |
