PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for authentication, which does not require a person to be authenticated to stop while he/she is authenticated and also does not bother him/her at the time of authentication. SOLUTION: The device for authentication, comprising; a sensor unit 26 for measuring a distance to the person to be authenticated; a coordinate estimator for estimating a position coordinator value for the person to be authenticated from information of the distance to the person to be authenticated, which is measured by the sensor unit 26, after a predetermined time; a telescope camera 25 for taking a picture of the person to be authenticated; a driving unit for driving the telescope camera 25 towards a direction of the coordinate position estimated by the coordinate estimator; and a processing unit 42 for processing an authentication process by using an image taken by the telescope camera 25.
