A writing instrument point protector comprises a metal cap having three circumferentially spaced internal projections 24 at the entrance thereof, which "snap" into a peripheral groove 12 on the instrument body 11, when placed thereon. In the case of a fountain pen, a polyethylene lining 30 is provided inside the cap, which comprises a cylindrical body 31 closed at one end with a truncated-conical portion 32. The projections 24 may be obtained by driving three balls into the outer portion of the cap. |
