FIELD: extra-hard material synthesis equipment. SUBSTANCE: high-pressure apparatus has two axially aligned dies, each secured by steel rings in contact with flat surface of supporting plate, which is formed as insert secured by rings. Supporting plate insert end contacting with die end has flat central portion, whose peripheral parts are conjugated with spherical or conical surface. Diameter d(1) of insert end flat portion is less than diameter d(2) of die end, which is in contact with it, and outer diameter D of supporting plate insert exceeds d(2) [ D > d(2) > d(1) ] of die end. Maximum service life of high-pressure apparatus is provided, when diameter d(1) of insert end flat portion is 0.7-0.9 of diameter d(2) of die end, diameter D of supporting plate insert is 1.2-1.8 of d(2) and radius R of spherical surface of insert end is 1.5-6.0 of diameter D of supporting plate insert. When peripheral part of supporting plate insert end is formed as conical surface, optimum angle between generatrices of cone is 160-176 deg. Construction allows service life of apparatus to be increased by at least 30%.
