In the case of a device for measuring the detonation delay time of a detonation means 7, the latter is inserted in a retaining body 1. There is a free space 17 between the detonation means 7 and a detonation pin 9 which triggers said detonation means 7. In order to achieve accurate measurement results without costly preparations, an optical fibre 19 which ends at the free space 17, is inserted into the retaining body 1. The optical fibre 19 is connected to a measurement device 23 via an optoelectrical transducer 21. A pressure sensor 4 which reacts to the pressure wave of the detonation means 7 produces a stop signal for the measurement device. <IMAGE>
