PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to align and support plural optical fibers on the same surface with good accuracy. SOLUTION: This device is composed of a substrate 1 formed with plural V-grooves 2 in parallel, the optical fibers 3 positioned and arranged in these V-grooves 2 and a retaining plate 4 for retaining the optical fibers 3. In such a case, the retaining plate 4 is constituted by previously polishing the optical fiber 3 retaining surface of the retaining plate 4 to flatten and finish the surface and forming projecting lines 7 for reducing the thickness of an adhesive layer by filling the gaps generated between the optical fibers 3 to each other on the flattened and finished surface. |
