PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to detect which one of plural gear mechanisms provided in an electric actuator has a failure due to adhesion or the like.SOLUTION: A failure detection mechanism (100) for an electric actuator and/or an electric actuator (1) includes: a first gear mechanism (10) connected to a first motor (11); a second gear mechanism (20) connected to a second motor (21); an output section (30) capable of rotating at a speed produced by adding together a rotation speed based on the first gear mechanism (10) and a rotation speed based on the second gear mechanism (20); a first sensor (71) configured to detect a value of electric current driving the first motor (11) or a value associated with the value of the electric current; a second sensor (72) configured to detect a value of electric current driving the second motor (21) or a value associated with the value of the electric current; and a comparison unit (53) configured to determine a failure on the basis of a result of comparison between a first detected value by the first sensor (71) and a second detected value by the second sensor (72).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
