PURPOSE:To reduce restrictions in a line design after superposition process by a method wherein a cut is formed on the continuous heat insulating mat under conveying it, thereafter, half mats, positioned at both sides of the cut, are changed vertically in the postures thereof and the same surfaces thereof are superposed so as to be opposed. CONSTITUTION:The cut (a), cut along the longitudinal direction of the mat by leaving the surface layer section of the mat 1, is formed at the widthwise center of the mat 1 by a slitter 3 under conveying the continuous heat insulating mat 1 lengthwise by roller conveyers 2 in the horizontal posture thereof. Subsequently, the half mat segments 1A, 1B of the mat 1 are conveyed by a plurality of vertically postured guide rolls 4, arranged in a condition that whose opposing distances are reduced than the width of the mat 1 as the conveyer approaches to the downward side in conveying direction thereof, and guide members 5 having substantially chevron shapes in the front views thereof. During the conveyance, the segments 1A, 1B of the mat 1 are bent about the boundary section thereof and the postures thereof are changed into vertical by the bending whereby they may be superposed in a condition that the same surfaces thereof are being contacted during changing their postures gradually. |
