摘要 1,097,383. Winding. LEESONA CORPORATION. Aug. 27, 1965 [Sept. 8, 1964], No. 36845/65. Heading D1J. In an automatic winding machine wherein the package 10 is reversed and brought to rest in the event of a thread breakage and the yarn ends are taken to a knotter 26 spaced from the normal path of the thread, the return of the knotted yarn to the continuously operating traverse device 18 is delayed so that the package can be brought up to normal speed before traversing is resumed. To this end a rotatable, tubular, grooved guide member 50 is positioned to receive the yarn as it is released from the knotter 26. Guide 50 is thus rotated by the yarn running thereover and thus progressively moves the yarn towards its unsupported end. Simultaneous with the operation of the knotting device a yarn carrier 60 biassed anticlockwise about a pivot 58 is cocked to the position shown in Fig. 1 and held there by a trigger (70) (Fig. 4, not shown) such that the yarn moving along member 50 deflects the trigger 70 which releases carrier 60 which rotates anticlockwise and returns the yarn to the beginning of guide 50 so that it may repass walong the guide before dropping onto the traverse guide 18 to be retraversed. Thus a longer time is allowed for the package 10 to be brought back to normal winding speed. If the package has reached normal winding speed when the thread deflects the trigger 70 then the tension in the thread will be sufficiently high to cause the thread to override a sprung finger on member 60 and immediately pass to the end of the guide 50.
