The invention relates to a method for controlling a household electrical appliance for heating a liquid, said apparatus comprising a tank intended to contain the liquid to be heated, a thermometric element capable of performing representative thermometric measurements of the temperature of said liquid, as well as a cup associated with an electric heating element the electrical power supply of which is controlled in accordance with said thermometric measurements so as to heat said volume of liquid up to a set temperature (T<SUB>con</SUB>). It is characterized in that it comprises the steps consisting of: resetting (2) a target temperature level (U<SUB>c</SUB>) the value of which is a function of said desired temperature (T<SUB>con</SUB>); performing an iterative step (6, 7, 10, 8) consisting of: supplying power to said heating element; modifying (6) said target level (U<SUB>c</SUB>) according to the desired temperature (T<SUB>con</SUB>) and the variation of the current temperature level (U<SUB>2</SUB>) over a reference period having a predetermined duration (t<SUB>5</SUB>); said iterative step (6, 7, 10, 8) ending when the current temperature level (U<SUB>2</SUB>) exceeds the target level (U<SUB>c</SUB>). |
