摘要 This ultrasonic observation device is provided with: a frequency analysis unit that calculates a plurality of frequency spectra by means of analyzing the frequencies of a signal generated on the basis of an echo signal resulting from converting to an electrical signal an ultrasonic wave echo that is the reflection from an observation subject of an ultrasonic wave transmitted at the observation subject; a feature quantity calculation unit that calculates the respective feature quantities of the plurality of frequency spectra, calculates a correction feature quantity of each frequency spectrum by means of performing attenuation correction of the feature quantity of each frequency spectrum in each of a plurality of attenuation rate candidate values that each apply different attenuation characteristics, and sets the optimum attenuation rate to the observation subject among the plurality of attenuation rate candidate values using the correction feature quantities; and a feature quantity image data generation unit that associates the correction feature quantity based on the optimum attenuation rate with visual information, and generates feature quantity image data displayed together with an ultrasonic wave image generated from the echo signal.
