PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the discharge breakdown of a voltage applying electrode end part without installing an insulator even in repeatedly using a radiation detector. SOLUTION: In a radiation image detector 10 wherein a voltage applying electrode 2 to which a voltage is applied, a photoconductive layer 1 for generating charges by being irradiated with radiation and a charge collecting electrode 3 for collecting the charges corresponding to the amount of radiation are laminated, a selective charge transport layer 4 which blocks the charges of the same polarity as the voltage applying electrode but transports the charges of the opposite polarity is provided between the voltage applying electrode 2 and the photoconductive layer 1, and the selective charge transport layer 4 is formed into a thick film at the end part of the voltage applying electrode 2.
