PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the operation of a change-over switch, and to suppress a careless operation at the storing position. SOLUTION: In a lane keeping device, a steering 1 to steer an automobile by the operation of a driver; a steering operation device 3 to operate the above steering by driving an actuator; running information detecting means 7A and 7B to detect the running informations of the automobile; and a control means 5 to maintain the running lane of the automobile by controlling the steering operation device 3 depending on the detected running informations; are provided. In such a lane keeping device, a change-over switch 13 to convert the operation and the nonoperation of the control of the steering operation device 3; and a displacement means 15 stored to the steering 1, and to displace freely to the storing position to allow the nonoperation of the change-over switch 13, and the operating position to allow the operation being exposed; are also provided.
